After a year-long break, the family drama got started all over again for the Roys (and the family business, Waystar Royco) for Succession‘s fourth — and final — season, which wrapped on Sunday, May 28 on Max. (No spoilers here, but read our interview with Matthew Macfadyen about the Succession series finale here.)
“We were cut out behind our backs, but there’s a shape for things for us,” Kendall, who’s played by Jeremy Strong, says in the hit drama’s official trailer.
Succession has earned a whopping 48 Emmy Award nominations over its first three seasons, with its final chapter topping our list of the most anticipated TV events of 2023. The show has wasted no time with shocking twists and turns — including its bombshell third episode — and it all finally ended on Sunday.
In an interview with Rolling Stone following the episode’s premiere, Sarah Snook, who plays Shiv, told us about her reaction to the shocking twist halfway through the season. (And don’t worry, no spoilers.) “Like, Whoa! That’s a huge swing. That’s amazing from Jesse [Armstrong]. In some ways, it was a long time coming.” (You can check out spoilers in the complete Q&A here.)
Brian Cox, meantime, who stars as Logan Roy, discussed his character’s relationship with his children in the show’s official podcast.
“He does love them — that’s his Achille’s heel,” Cox said. “He’d be a lot better off if he didn’t love his children. He’d be a happier man. But he loves his children and it’s a conflict. He cannot deal with it — the pain of it. The fact that the loves his children and they don’t honor him. All they want is entitlement, avarice. That’s all they represent.”
